Meet the gang...
Amy Martin
Amy fell in love with hot yoga in 2003 after a challenging year brought her to a professional and personal stand still. With great friends and their encouragement she tried yoga for the first time truly out of desperation and a need for a change in her life. It was life altering! She understood how the yoga changed and would continue to change her after only one 90 minute class. Amy immersed herself in her practice, learning all she could through individual study and class attendance. After only 7 months of practice she found herself drawn to attend Jimmy Barkan Yoga College in Fort Lauderdale, Fl in April 2004, completing her 200 hour Hatha Yoga training in May. She immediately came back to Nashville and began her teaching career. After 3 1/2 years she is still drawn to teach and practice; for Amy it is a passion, a need, and a way of life. She has seen how it changes lives, bodies, and minds (especially her own) and wants to share this yoga with as many people as she can,  wherever she finds herself. Amy joined our staff in January 2008.

Don't let her petite frame fool you. Amy is a yoga powerhouse! After years teaching in the hot yoga classroom she has become an expert at taking your practice to its limits. But her easy-going attitude and approachable demeanor bring a community feel to her class fueling your own internal fire to keep going. Come challenge your physical body to liberate the mind with one of Amy's heart pumping practices.

Amy’s Pitta Practice
Drawing on her knowledge of the many different styles of hot yoga, Amy employs several power poses combined in a slow methodical way to allow your body to work with the extreme heat levels to extract all the benefits. A challenging, but invigorating session, she takes the intensity of hot yoga into a whole other realm.

Amy’s Vata+Pitta Practice
Utilizing the principles behind Power Yoga, Amy’s Vata+Pitta sessions are a superb blend of long holds and Vinyasa or flow. The longer holds train the mind and muscles, as the flow warms the body through movement and grace. The combination is both strong and smooth, allowing all levels to access the entire body with simple but challenging moves. Truly meditation in motion at it's core.
