Melanie Bhagat
Melanie Bhagat began practicing yoga in 2001 under Iyengar instructor, Chris Clawson. While studying the precision and alignment emphasized in the Iyengar style, Melanie became increasingly fond of the the flow and dance of Vinyasa yoga. After years of struggling with anxiety, she found that yoga provided a peaceful solace and a way to relax in the present moment while also improving her physical health and well-being. As witness to these benefits, Melanie decided she wanted to share her love of yoga with others.  She attended the White Lotus Yoga Foundation's teacher training session in August 2008.  Currently, in addition to expanding her knowledge of holistic healing, yoga philosophy and anatomy, she leads private sessions, special classes and continues to practice with friends at Kali Yuga Yoga.

Amanda Buchanan
Amanda began her career as a social worker in an effort to create balance by approaching life holistically. As she continued to practice yoga, she realized that the integration of this science into her social work practice would benefit her clients by presenting them with tools to further assist them in obtaining personal wellness outside of the confines of an office. She received her Yoga Teacher Certification through Living Yoga Program in Austin, Texas and went on to become a Reiki Master. Since receiving her Reiki Master training, she has trained other social workers and those in the helping professions to use this work in order to increase the effectiveness of their practice and personal life by learning to tune into not only their client’s and associate’s needs, but their own needs from a physical, emotional and spiritual sense. Currently, she is working at the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office co-spearheading a mental health and addiction program which focuses on the whole individual—mind, body, spirit—while providing clients with applicable tools such as yoga to assist participants in tuning into their own bodies. Katie Gillis
Katie grew up dancing ballet. Her love for the beauty, discipline and grace of dance led her to yoga. She has been practicing yoga for over 2 years and in the Fall of 2007 completed a 200 hour training certification in Hatha Yoga. Katie’s yoga journey has been and continues to be an adventure full of renewal, excitement, and steadfastness. The patience and peace she finds through her practice opens her mind and heart, allowing her to be more comfortable with herself and love those around her more selflessly. Katie's intention as a yoga teacher is to create a space in students' lives where the strength inside them can manifest into the physical, where through their own bodies they can experience and embrace change as well as overcome fear. Katie's hope is to gently lead fellow yogis to a place where they can connect with their breath, where they can find that thing that refreshes and inspires them.

Stephen has attended workshops with Roger Cole and studied under a number of excellent teachers and mentors to include Nancy Kirkland, Zo Newell, and Sanieh Patricia. Amy Martin
Amy fell in love with hot yoga in 2003 after a challenging year brought her to a professional and personal stand still. With great friends and their encouragement she tried yoga for the first time truly out of desperation and a need for a change in her life. It was life altering! She understood how the yoga changed and would continue to change her after only one 90 minute class. Amy immersed herself in her practice, learning all she could through individual study and class attendance. After only 7 months of practice she found herself drawn to attend Jimmy Barkan Yoga College in Fort Lauderdale, Fl in April 2004, completing her 200 hour Hatha Yoga training in May. She immediately came back to Nashville and began her teaching career. After 3 1/2 years she is still drawn to teach and practice; for Amy it is a passion, a need, and a way of life. She has seen how it changes lives, bodies, and minds- especially her own- and wants to share this yoga with as many people as she can, wherever she finds herself.

Katie Noss
Katie Noss began her study of Yoga over 5 years ago, shortly after the birth of her twin daughters. Through early instruction from DVDs and the local YMCA, Katie began to realize there is more to Yoga than the physical asanas. Intrigued by the long and vast philosophy of this ancient art and realizing the inner awareness her practice was fostering, Katie was inspired to pursue a teacher training program through the Yoga School at the Yoga Room in Nashville, where she trained with an emphasis in the Iyengar tradition and restorative poses. Now a Certified Instructor and Registered Yoga Teacher with the Yoga Alliance, Katie looks forward to sharing the benefits of yoga with the community.

Blair Rowan
Blair took her first course in yoga as a junior in college simply to fulfill a P.E. credit. But it wasn’t until she moved to Colorado in 2007 that yoga found its way back into Blair’s life. While searching for something positive to balance her experience working as a nanny, she decided to participate in a yoga teacher training. It didn’t take long for her eyes to be opened to the vast world and lifestyle that is yoga. Yoga met Blair on her path right when she needed it the most. It has helped guide her decisions by enabling her to recognize her authentic self and become aware of the immense importance of balancing the mind, body, and spirit. Blair received her first 200-hour certification from the Shambhava School of Yoga in Fort Collins, CO. She then trained for a second 200-hour certification from CorePower Yoga in Fort Collins, CO, where she also interned before moving back to Nashville. She currently teaches yoga at the Bellevue YMCA and at various gyms & studios around Nashville.

Nora Shabayek
Nora grew up in Brentwood, TN and as a graduate of Belmont University has lived in the area for 20 years. Her love for yoga began a few years ago when she attended a class in New York City for the first time. To her, being on the mat felt a lot like coming home. It was a safe and sacred space that allowed her to get back in touch with her True Self. All her life she felt she was a cardio junkie who spent so much of her time in the gym always striving to perfect her physical body meanwhile leaving her mind and spirit out of the equation. Yoga became the therapy that has healed from the inside out. As she has discovered, through yoga people learn to be. Students are initially trained to listen to their bodies but along the way something magical happens. You start to listen to your soul. To Nora yoga is a gift that she feels so grateful to share through teaching. Recently, Nora received her 200 hour Yoga Teacher Certification through the White Lotus Foundation in Santa Barbara, CA and leads several classes in the area focusing on Vinyasa and Hot Yoga.
