Chest & Throat Openers for Singers, Musicians, &
Music Industry Professionals

With Danielle Crisafulli

3-4PM
DONATION ONLY*

Just think about it- almost ALL daily activities bend the body forward – driving, working at a computer, cooking, cleaning- not to mention all those hours musicians and industry professionals spend hunched over a console or a musical instrument!! This intense repetitive action of compressing the front side of the body, in the end, causes the shoulders to hunch, the lungs collapse, the throat to close and even promotes the muscles of the mouth to clench. Furthermore, the muscles in the back react by becoming tight, weak and molded - restricting the ability of the neck, chest and shoulders to move effectively. However, through a gentle back bending yoga practice we can combat these issues by releasing and opening the heart, lungs, chest, and shoulder joints, while relaxing the throat, tongue and muscles of the larynx to expand and free our breathing.

So join us as we explore a beginner based yoga class focused on opening the neck, shoulder and throat region to enhance performance, longevity, alleviate stress and improve your over all sense of well-being!

About Your Instructor
Danielle Crisafulli has spent the majority of her career in and out of recording studios, working in the high-stress fast-paced environment of the music industry. Yet, the demands of her job and the intensity of her projects soon took their toll on her body. In 1998 Danielle’s struggle with asthma had become so severe that her acupuncturist recommended that she add a regular yoga practice to assist her healing. Upon taking her first class she knew immediately that the benefits would be outstanding and that yoga would now play an important role as part of her daily lifestyle. Nine years later-- completely asthma free-- while practicing yoga with a musician friend, Danielle decided to incorporate her passion for the music industry and yoga into one.  Thus, after 10 years of managing world renowned audio engineers at one of the top music studios in New York City, she chose to follow her yoga path and graduated with a 500 hour yoga teacher certification from YogaWorks, NYC. While there she concentrated her studies around Iyengar, Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Ishta and Hatha Yoga. Her teaching style culminates the best of each practice cultivating safe, sensible thematic sequencing with the use of asana, hands-on adjustments, modification of postures and props.
