Mastering Standing Balancing Poses

Learn how to balance on one foot!!! Standing balancing poses are powerful asanas to develop strength, flexibility, stamina, steadiness and -- as the name implies -- balance. In addition to physical benefits, standing balance poses help to foster a sense of personal determination and commitment, self-confidence, unwavering focus and graceful poise. 

In this 2-hour asana clinic we will start by understanding the way gravity works on the body while standing and how we develop our sense of balance from our early childhood. We will discover balancing tools such as proper alignment, strength and focused attention to achieve success in a wide variety of poses including the popular  Vrksasana (Tree) and Garudasana (Eagle) as well as more challenging poses such as Natarajasana (King Dancer) and Svarga Dvijasana (Bird of Paradise). 

All levels welcome! Come with a sense of humor and a light heart as we learn to balance on one foot together!!

About Your Instructor
Jo-Jo Jackson started practicing yoga in 2010. Since then Jo-Jo has developed her personal practice from the yogic traditions of Ashtanga, Bikram, Dharma and Jivamuhkti yoga. Her teaching ranges from dynamic vinyasa flows to vigorous hatha-vinyasa classes to healing restorative practices that incorporate styles of vini yoga and yin yoga. She has learned to listen to her own inner teacher not only to guide herself through the practice on and off the mat, but to assist others through their practices and encourage them learn to listen to their own inner wisdom.
