Introduction to Sanskrit with Ali Sperry  October 2 6:30-8pm $25  Join us for a light-hearted and multi-faceted look at the language of the Vedas. The study and understanding of Sanskrit has deep ties to our yoga practice and in this workshop we will delve into understanding their relationship more fully. We'll explore questions  like what's so special about Sanskrit? Why do we use Sanskrit names for yoga poses? What the heck does Ardha Hanumanasa mean? And much more! The evening's activities will include an overview of the origins and significance of this sacred language, pronunciation and translation of key asana titles, a short practice with a focus on Sanskrit names and meanings, and end with an arts and crafts Sanskrit project.  About Your Instructor As a child, Ali attended an alternative school in which meditation, yoga, and the study of Ayur Veda and Sankrit were all key components of the curriculum.
